Dear Parents & SOCSD Employees,
The Centers for Disease Control and the Mississippi State Department of Health continue to recommend a quarantine period of 14 days for close contact exposure to a Covid-positive case.
The CDC has released acceptable alternatives to shorten quarantine periods based on local circumstances, but the District is currently awaiting additional guidance from the MSDH regarding acceptable alternatives. At this time, the District's practice of a 14 day quarantine for close contact exposure to a Covid-positive case has NOT changed. Any updates to the District's quarantine period will be updated in our return to school guide, Staying Safe Together, and will be shared with our students, staff and families.
The health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. For the latest return to school updates, Covid-19 response, event information and resources, please visit www.starkvillesd.com/Covid19.
Thank you in advance for your support of our efforts to stay safe together.
Sincerely,
Eddie Peasant, Supt.
