Our student artists are buzz worthy! The Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District PTO celebrates the artistic talents of our students for their original works in creative writing, photography 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art with its annual Buzzy's Art Awards.
All Pre-K-12 students enrolled in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District are invited to submit work to the Buzzy's Art Contest. The deadline for submission of artwork is January 19, 2024.
ARTWORK CATEGORIES:
Students are invited to submit an original work of art in one of the following categories:
- 2D (Drawing, Painting, Collage, Mixed Media or Digital Drawing)
- 3D (Sculpture in any material or Fiber/Textile)
- Photography
- Creative Writing (Short Story or Poetry
Students are welcome to submit artwork in all four categories, but only ONE entry per category. Please see attached for detailed Judging Criteria Rubrics. Submissions willbe judged via each grade level for grades Pre-K through 8th Grade. Starkville High School (9th–12th) entries will all be judged together. AWARDS CEREMONY
Judging will take place in February. The Buzzy’s Art Awards will be presented at the Greensboro Center during two different public ceremonies on Monday, March 4th at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Images of all winning artwork will be proudly presented at the ceremony. Winners will be notified prior to this event.
