Celebrating A-rated Excellence for National Principal's Month

Principals enjoy a celebratory luncheon

October is designated as National Principal's Month, and Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District was delighted to celebrate our building-level administrators during a luncheon last week held at Harveys Restaurant in Starkville. Principals and Assistant Principals set the standard for excellence and school culture across our district as they lead their teams of outstanding teachers and support staff. These education professionals are essential to ensuring the district can create positive learning experiences every day for students.

One of several celebrations planned as part of the district's recognition of our A-rating based on 2023-2024 state assessments, the event was a great time for our team to gather as a family of administrators as we look to the future. Award-winning art instructor, Andrew Lark, also attended to share a special project.

Andrew Lark's hand-drawn trophy design

SOCSD Administration asked Mr. Lark to design a custom trophy to be displayed at each of our schools showcasing the A-rating as an historic milestone for the #JacketFamily. Mr. Lark unveiled the design, which was created, in part, utilizing our SHS Unmanned Aviation program's 3D modeling software. The finished trophy will serve as an ongoing reminder of the district's commitment to achieving excellence for every student.

Thank you to R. L. Mack Consulting, LLC, one of the district’s professional development partners, for sponsoring a portion of the event!
