"The job you do for our boys and girls is incredibly important," said SOCSD Superintendent Dr. Tony McGee. "And, we know you don't always get to hear a thank you. We want to show a small token of our gratitude today for all you do to keep our district rolling."
Dr. McGee shared his words of encouragement with the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District bus drivers and Transportation staff before saying a quick prayer for a meal the team shared together on Tuesday.
The Superintendent's Office hosted a lunch catered by Georgia Blue to honor our bus drivers and transportation staff for the role they play in creating a positive experience for students. Many families rely on bus transportation to attend school, and bus drivers are often the first and last district staff member to see a child every day. They know our community's roads and neighborhoods and provide a consistent presence in the lives of so many of our students. In addition, our drivers work with staff to transport classes on field trips and to athletic competitions.
Board members joined the Central Office staff to serve lunch and fellowship before the fleet rolled out for another day of afternoon routes.
In this season of showing gratitude, our district is very thankful for the Yellow Jacket Transportation team and proud to honor them for the work they do to keep the Starkville Spark shining bright.
