Join West Elementary School for Good Books and Delicious Treats

By Nicole Thomas

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, West Elementary School is bringing together two of our favorite things – good books and delicious treats – for the Scholastic Book Fair.

The Scholastic Book Fair, which will be held February 6-10, is a reading event that brings the books students want to read right into our school where they can buy them to take home. The book fair offers a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.

The plot for book fair at West Elementary School also involves a cooking demonstration from Armstrong Middle School student Mark Coblentz, known as Mark the Chef, who will demonstrate how to make crepes on February 9 at 2 pm. Samples of Mark’s famous crepes will be available to those who attend. Mark the Chef, who also loves a good book, will offer students a chance to win one of his famous pies when they purchase a book.

West Elementary School has set a goal to sell $1,000 worth of books. If they are successful (and with your support, we know they will be), students who buy books will get to help duct tape their principal Dr. Andrea Smith to the wall.

The Book Fair is open to parents, grandparents, and supporters of West Elementary School. Book Fair hours are 7:30 am until 3:30 pm.

Can’t come to Book Fair but still want to support our school?  Online sales will be offered Feb. 6-28. Find more info at http://www.scholastic.com/fair.
