MS Sales Tax Free Weekend July 31 and August 1

By Nicole Thomas

Shopping for back-to-school clothes and shoes? Don’t forget about Mississippi’s sales tax holiday weekend on July 31 and August 1.

The Starkville Oktibbeha School District’s dress code policy allows parents to purchase school clothing for their children at the retailer of their choice. Shirts and pants are available in several colors and a variety of styles at multiple retailers, both locally and across the state, for parents who want to take advantage of the tax free weekend. Shirts, blouses, cardigans, turtlenecks, and sweater vests are offered in white, black, grey, and yellow/gold. Pants, including denim, along with skirts, skorts, shorts, capris and jumper dresses are available in khaki or black.  Students and parents may select appropriate footwear, outerwear, and accessories of their choice for school.
