Three SHS Students Attend 2014 Governor’s School

Starkville High School was well represented June 1-20 at Mississippi Governor’s School (MGS) held on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.  Shelby Adair, Kendra Kolbet, and Michelle Li were among three of 70 scholars from around the state selected to participate in the residential honors program established in 1981 by Governor William Winter.  Shelby, Kendra and Michelle participated in academic, creative and leadership experiences blend cultural, social and recreational components into a rich and natural learning environment. The community of interaction created by the MGS program inspires the love of learning, discovery of self and the desire to use gifts and talents to improve society.  2014 SSD Teacher of the Year Ginger Tedder was also selected for the MGS faculty, and she taught a class on social entrepreneurship and ethics.
