SHS senior Breland Anderson was awarded a silver medal in the National Scholastic Art Competition for her photography portfolio. Anderson’s portfolio earned her a gold key at the state level.
SHS junior Morgan Villavaso, who won the coveted American Visions Award and a gold key in Mississippi for her photo “Forever Young,” was also awarded a silver medal for the same photo at the national level.
As Scholastic’s silver medalists, Anderson and Villavaso are in the top one percent of more than 255,000 entries.
