Congratulation to SHS senior Stuart Woomer on his appointment to the United States Naval Academy! Stuart, an outstanding student at SHS, excels in academics and athletics. He is a member of the National Honor Society and he runs track and cross country. Stuart, who attended Boy’s State in 2013, is also active in student government at SHS and a member of the Mayor’s Youth Council. In addition, he has participated in several disaster response teams including Hattiesburg and Smithville tornadoes and Haiti earthquake.
Stuart was selected as Most Outstanding Sophomore and Junior at SHS. With a 3.9 GPA, Stuart was also recognized with highest honors in AP language and composition and biology.
Stuart begins his study at USNA on July 1. He is interested in naval aviation and plans to earn a bachelor of science in physics or chemistry.
Stuart’s brother, Grant, was also accepted to the United States Naval Academy Class of 2018.
