Starkville Oktibbeha School District has named Haley Montgomery as Director of Communications to lead the District's internal and external communications, public relations and brand management. Montgomery's hiring was approved at the December meeting of the SOSD Board of Trustees.
Montgomery has worked in the marketing and advertising field for more than 25 years, creating award-winning communications, branding, graphic and digital design. She is the owner of Small Pond Graphics, a design and illustration freelance business and has worked as a contractor with the school district for nearly a decade.
"We are excited to welcome Haley to the District as Director of Communications," said Dr. Tony McGee. "She is a familiar face to many in our community and her work for the District has helped to create the Yellow Jacket brand. I look forward to working with Haley to continue building a tradition of excellence in communications."
In her role as Director of Communications, Montgomery will manage the Starkville Oktibbeha School District's brand and develop communication strategies for sharing the District's message as well as marketing the District to a local and regional audience. She will manage the District's communication channels, serve as media relations liaison and provide timely and relevant information to parents, students, staff and the community.
"I'm very excited to step into this role," Montgomery said. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue sharing the story of our district, our teachers and our students in creative ways.
