Starkville Oktibbeha School District will host a community event on September 20 at Peter's Rock Family Worship Center at 6:30pm featuring nationally acclaimed speaker, author and educator, Baruti K. Kafele, known to the education community and his substantial social media following as "Principal Kafele". The presentation, entitled "Sparking a Catalyst for Change: Bridging Family, School and Community," is free and open to the public.
Principal Kafele is a former urban educator, teacher and principal whose expertise falls in leadership training for principals and assistant principals, as well as an emphasis on creating classroom equity. He is a best-selling author of nine books and has delivered more than 2500 conference and program keynote addresses on topics ranging from school leadership and inclusion to parenting and male empowerment.
The September 20th event will offer an inspirational message from Principal Kafele centered on creating transformative change through a reflective process. He will share thoughts based on his best-selling book, which offers a blueprint for lifting black males up and ensuring their success in the classroom and beyond.
