Starkville High School chemistry teacher Kelli Dawkins was awarded High School Chemistry Teacher of the Year by the Mississippi Section of the American Chemical Society.
Dawkins began her teaching career at Starkville High School in 1994.
Dawkins has been recognized as SHS Examples of Excellence Teacher, SHS Tireless Teacher and WCBI Teacher of the Week.
She holds a master’s degree in education from Mississippi State University.
Dawkins participated in the the Initiating New Science Partnerships in Rural Education (INSPIRE) project with Mississippi State University that focused on technology-supported, inquiry-based learning in the Earth and Space sciences. For six years, Dawkins worked alongside research fellows, including lab and international experiences in three STEM disciplines.
