The Starkville High School RoboJackets clinched their seventh state title at the Mississippi BEST Robotics competition! The RoboJackets are ranked 3rd in the nation and have won the state competition 7 of the last 9 years. The team will compete in the South’s BEST Regional at Auburn University in December.
This year's challenge was “Off the Grid.” Teams had to design and build a robot capable of performing simulated electric power repairs to restore power. The team’s robots also had to incorporate an autonomous element for the first year.
The RoboJackets, a team of 45 students from SHS and AMS, beat out 18 other teams from Mississippi and Tennessee. Students are judged in multiple areas, including robot, marketing, booth, engineering notebook, spirit and sportsmanship.
