Yellow Jacket Athletics has named Haley Maughn head volleyball coach for Starkville High School.
"Maughn brings experience as a former collegiate player and club level volleyball coach to the Yellow Jackets," said Athletic Director Greg Owen. "Her volleyball knowledge and skill level combined with her enthusiasm for the sport is the perfect match to take Jacket volleyball to the next level."
Maughn has coached club level volleyball in the Golden Triangle region since 2017, and she played collegiate volleyball for Jefferson Davis Community College in 2016 and Mississippi University for Women from 2017-2019.
Maughn was twice nominated as Female Athlete of the Year while at MUW. As a high school player for Caledonia High School, she earned Most Valuable Player honors in 2015 and 2016.
"I love the sport of volleyball, and I'm so excited about the opportunity to build the Yellow Jacket volleyball program," said Coach Maughn. "I have already received tremendous support players, parents, and the greater school community. I am looking forward to an excellent first season!"
Maughn is currently a third grade teacher at Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary School.
